The Vagabonds (also referred to as "the Wanderers" or "the Southerners" by Scillians) were the descendants of the Confederate people from Texakus, shipwrecked on the planet of Bane during the Hegemony Wars. Even though the name generally described the military forces of their Dominion of Man, it also encompassed the people themselves.
Somewhat aggressive, the highly militarized nation of the Wanderers waged many conflicts on Bane, eventually bringing the doom on themselves with the outbreak of the most prominent one of them, the Great War fought with the Scillians. However, both the people and the organization had survived, and after over a century a new war ravaged the island of Praescilla. The conflict ended after a discovery of a much more menacing enemy, the Tarkhan.
This time, fighting side by side, the Vagabonds and the Scillians clashed with the powerful army of the Tarkhans. After a couple of years it became clear, that even together, they could not stand a chance against the ominous opponent. Eventually, both nations were reinforced and rescued by an unexpected intervention of a Confederate strike force, which drove the Tarkhan off-world and reunited the planet with the Confederacy of Iliard.
