While all sentient beings had some traces of sensitivity, only a few could use it to induce things considered paranormal, like telepathy or even telekinesis. Various civilizations viewed such abilities in very different ways; some worshipped skilled psykers as gods, while the others banished them on the grounds of being "haunted".
